Area of Shaded Regions in 6th Grade Math


I attended a workshop last week for Open Up Resources for math.  What a wonderful reminder it was of how students should be thinking and problem solving when learning new skills and concepts. :) 

One of the lessons we worked through involved finding area of triangles by deriving that a triangle is half a rectangle. This reminded me of some task cards I started a few months ago but never published. Finally, Some New Products!

Happy New Year! I hope you've had a wonderful break and a wonderful first half of the school year! I started a new journey as a Gifted and Talented teacher at an elementary school this year. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new role but I have been overwhelmed with mastering all the K-5 curriculum so that I can bring my very best for my students. I am feeling much more confident at this point and now have some time to dedicate to updating my TpT store . Over the next few weeks I will be adding many new products I've created this fall to use with my K-5 students and to share with my colleagues.
