Essential Oils Junkie

Ok, it's official. I'm an essential oils junkie! Here's the story.......

I received a phone call from my husband in May close to the end of the day.  I was lining up my 3rd graders to take them back to class. I quickly answered the phone and not so nicely said "what do you need? I have kids right now." A female voice responded, asking "is this BJ's wife?" BJ had collapsed at work and I needed to come ASAP. I hope I NEVER receive a phone call like that again. (and I will never answer the phone like that again.)

A couple of emergency room visits, visits to the primary care physician, a neurologist and an ENT and he was still unwell. He was having vertigo spells along with severe headaches. It really was crippling. A friend of mine from school is a member of Young Living and she had an Itovi scanner. She offered to scan my husband and came over after school on a Monday. The scan said that his number one need was Parafree, which can be used to cleanse the body of parasites. What?!! We had been to the Outerbanks in April and he had been kayaking in the sound in addition to eating tuna and other seafood favorites. A quick google search showed that his symptoms aligned with a parasitic infection. After two doses of parafree he was passing what looked to be tapeworms, yuck..yuck...YUCK!!!

It has been 7 weeks now since that first phone call and he still isn't 100% but he is much better than he was. We will be seeing a neurotologist in Raleigh next week.

This whole ordeal has led me to take a look at what we are consuming and what we are exposing ourselves to in our home. We can eat better, but that won't matter if we are still eating on dishes cleaned with chemicals.  I joined Young Living AND doTerra (my mom is a wellness advocate). Yes, I am a little crazy and tend to go a little overboard! ๐Ÿ˜€ I have been diffusing like crazy, making DIY cleaners and made a bunch of rollers. I just ordered the Thieves cleaning kit from Young Living with the intention of replacing all the chemical filled cleaners in my house. Next month (when I have another paycheck, this stuff can be expensive when you want all of the things!) I plan to purchase soaps, dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent.

Last night I rubbed a sleep blend of essential oils on my feet and slept better than I have in weeks. I am starting to figure it all out and wanted to share my excitement! I have been doing a lot of research and have made a pinterest board for all the articles I have found with recipes and research. You can follow my Essential Oils board here.

If you want to find out more or sign up (no pressure, my primary purpose for this blog post is to share!) for doTerra or Young Living you can sign up through my links below. One of the perks of both doTerra and Young Living is if you get your friends to sign up through you, you get a percentage back that you can use to get more oils or other products. My goal isn't to be a sales person, but I wouldn't mind the credits to purchase more oils if you are looking to join! :) Other than the benefits of signing up others, just the credits earned for purchasing for personal use is more beneficial than buying on amazon or buying from other sources. I also love the facebook groups and the resources available with membership.

Do you have questions? Input? Let me know! I am hoping this will lead to a healthier lifestyle for my family, including my fur babies. I have lots of research to do on their behalf! ๐Ÿงก
